Specifically, the campaign vision is to create a better life for all by promoting inclusion and combating discrimination connected to mental illness. The mission is to increase knowledge of life with a mental illness; lessen the distance that leads to stigmatisation, prejudice and social exclusion; create a better understanding of mental illness in schools, in the workplace and everywhere else where lives are led.
ONE OF US was launched in 2011 and is set to continue work on a national level and targeted regional and local activities until the end of 2020. The campaign focuses on five main areas: service users and their relatives, youth (students in particular), the labor market, staff in health and social services, the media and the general population.
Ambassadors with lived experience of mental illness play a vital role for ONE OF US, within the organization and in campaign activities.
